Guilherme has been given the Russian citizenship.

Lokomotiv's President Olga Smorodskaya confirmed that Brazilian goalkeeper Guilherme has been given the Russian citizenship.

- Guilherme is a new Russian citizen - said Smorodskaya to the TV channel Match TV -. First of all, he has been playing in Russia for seven years. He really wanted this, our country must be proud that such athletes want to be Russian. He can't wait to play for the Sbornaya.

Guilherme joined Lokomotiv in 2007 from Atletico Paranaense. So far, he has made 139 appearances for the 'Railroaders'. You can read his biography here: HERE

Igor Cherevchenko: "I don't want to complain with the players".

Igor Cherevchenko: colpa dei giocatori per la sconfitta non sarà

Igor Cherevchenko in the post-game press-conference spoke about the game against Anzhi (0:2), resuming it.

- We thought Anzhi would have spent most of its time in its half of the pitch, playing a defensive football. Once we lost, we realized our plans didn't work. However, I don't want to complain with the players - most of them were with the national teams. First of all, you have to criticize yourself.

- Why did Niasse not play from the first minutes?
- Niasse arrived on late and only yesterday he had a training before the today's game.

Lokomotiv - Anzhi 0:2.

La sconfitta del "Anji"

Lokomotiv was defeated in the 16th round of the Russian Premier League.

Lokomotiv started the second half of the season in RPL hosting Anzhi at Cherkizovo. After the national teams break, Cherevchenko made some changes in the starting line-up. Tarasov and Corluka recovered from their injuries, while Skuletic was chosen over Niasse

In the first half, the game was really balanced. Lokomotiv was dangerous only twice with Samedov and Denisov, while Anzhi preferred relying on the counterattacks.

After the break, Niasse replaced Skuletic and he immediately started fighting in the field. Ten minutes later, the Senegalese striker could have scored the 1:0, but the yellow-greens defenders blocked him. In the following action, instead, the host side took the lead with Abdulavov

'Railroaders' answered again with Samedov, whose free kick hit the post. However, Anzhi realized even the second goal with Boli.

Lokomotiv wasn't able to take advantage from the CSKA's defeat, while Zenit is now far only one point.

___________________________________________________________________

The national teams break is over, while the second half of the season in RPL is going to start. Lokomotiv tomorrow will face Anzhi in a match that comes first the one against Sporting: this week will be crucial for the 'Railroaders'.

Corluka, Tarasov and Kasaev have returned training with the main group and they should be ready to take part in the match. Niasse and N'Dinga came back from Africa only on Wednesday. Samedov, instead, was the first player to return from the national teams even before Shishkin. Pejcinovic has been training individually and unlikely he'll start against Anzhi. Furthermore, Durica has recently provided some solid performance that can let the Serbian defender to recover without problems. Jan was also the captain of Slovakia against Iceland.

Anzhi has got some injured players too. Maevski could return playing only in 2016, while Serderov has still got some physical problems. The only two players involved during the national teams break were Lazic and Moutari, and they will be fit for the Saturday's match. Eschenko, Tigiev and Leonardo (all of the them didn't play in Saransk) have recovered from their injuries and could take part in the game.

Agalarov, who took the place of Semin, has earned only 2 point in 6 matches, demonstrating how the Anzhi's problems aren't related with the head coach. The same Agalarov shouldn't be considered as a real head coach. He trained only Anzhi-2 in his career and even with not very good results. Furthermore, the Anzhi's defender Kamil is his younger brother. The atmosphere in the team is not so good and it'b very tough for them to avoid the relegation.

The match against Lokomotiv will be crucial as the last ones in 2015. Anzhi should earn as more points as possible in order to prepare the 2016 in the best way. Loko should pay attention to them because they'll certainly want to take a revenge for the defeat they suffered in Makhachkala. It must be noted that Anzhi won its only match of the season in RPL in Moscow against Spartak, so we mustn't undervalue the opponent.

Cherevchenko said: "I've watched the first game of Russia. Samedov was good. I've also a given a look to the the match between Congo and Ethiopia. Skuletic, instead, scored his first goal for Serbia. When a team has got many players called by the national teams, this a prestige for the club. I hope the break will be good for us. Regarding the younger players, Oganesyan attends each game of the reserves. Let's see who could be called for the first team."

Kolomeytsev, instead, affirmed: "The real Lokomotiv was the one against Zenit not the one that was defeated in Krasnodar. I prefer playing back to the striker, but I'm used to play in many positions. I expected a call from the Russia national team, now I'll continue working and trying to demonstrate my value. Anzhi has got many problems in the defense this season, there isn't a teamwork."

Kick off tomorrow at 17:00 CET at Lokomotiv Stadium.

The Cherkizovo Report: Lokomotiv 2 Zenit 0

Zenit fans like to sing "Оп! Давай, давай! Доминируй, унижай!" which translates to "Come on, come on! Dominate, humiliate!", but it was Lokomotiv who did the dominating and humiliating as the Railwaymen got their season of dreams back on track (stupid train joke, but I'm too happy to care!) with a comprehensive 2-0 victory over the defending champions. It was our first win over the 'homeless' since 2011 and sweet revenge for the Super Cup loss earlier this year.

A half-full stadium of 14,000 filed in on a cold, Moscow evening including an army of Zenit supporters occupying the entire bottom portion of the north stand. Loko started without Corluka, Kasaev, Pejcinovic, and Tarasov and Zenit initially didn't include Witsel, Shatov, and the injured Garay, but still had a strong lineup including Hulk, Dzyuba, and co. I also made an important change. Loko hadn't won since I starting wearing my new Europa League scarf, so today I went with my oldest scarf bought on my birthday at my first Loko match in 2003. It worked wonders! I make fun of Russians for being superstitious and claim not to be myself, but I suppose football is the one exception!

The match began in silence as supporters of both teams observed nine quiet minutes and raised lights from candles, phones, or lighters in honor of those who lost their lives in the plane crash from Egypt to St. Petersburg nine days ago. The best chances of the first half fell to the red and green and Niasse was absolutely everywhere, showing no signs of fatigue. A Miranchuk shot and a Djurica header both stayed out of the goal and a spectacular bicycle kick from Niasse failed to hit the target. Zenit's best two attempts came early and late and Ryazantsev and Danny both had shots saved by Guilherme.

In the second half, Loko got off to the brightest of starts when in the 48th minute, Niasse played a ball in to Maicon. His shot was parried away by Lodygin, but bounced right off of Lombaerts and into the goal! Ten minutes later, Niasse set up the second goal as well when he sped down the left side and centered to Samedov at the top of box whose long distance shot screwed past Lodygin to give Loko a surprising, but deserved 2-0 lead!

A little agitated at that, the Zenit fans lit their flares and smoke bombs and our fans did the same resulting in a hazy view of the pitch for a few minutes. Zenit pressed hard in our end for the last twenty minutes, but only seriously threatened when Criscito's late header hit the post and substitute Witsel's subsequent bicycle attempt flew higher over the crossbar than Niasse's. Three massive points were sealed for the Railwaymen men.

Two good results this week have hopefully proven that the 6-2 reverse with Kuban was nothing more than a fluke. It's also shown our depth as worrying injuries to key players were dealt with. Also most importantly, the team spirit was not broken and the effort today after a tiring trip to Turkey was incredible.

Not lost in the euphoria of this win is the fact that at the halfway point of the Russian Premier League season, Loko are tied for second with Rostov. Thankfully, we now have two weeks to get healthy before the final five matches of 2015.

Igor Cherevchenko: "We planned to play on counterattacks".

Игорь Черевченко: Планировали играть вторым номером

Igor Cherevchenko in the post-game press-conference spoke about the game against Zenit (2:0), resuming it.

- Before the game, I spoke a lot with the guys. It was clear we had spent many efforts against Besiktas. Psychologically speaking, everything was good. Today the team didn't give up. I don't have any claim with the players for the season. Even after the defeat against Kuban. The team made a gift for the Smorodskaya's birthday. However, I also think Zenit deserved to score a goal - they had good chances.

- Is the October's nightmare ended?
- Nightmare? We hadn't got any fear. This was only a hiccup. The game against Kuban could happen to each squad. I've analyzed the match and the final scored should have been 6:8 for us.

- Which were the plans for the tonight's match?
- We planned to play on counterattacks. We've played our best games in this way.

Lokomotiv - Zenit 2:0.

Победа над «Зенитом»

Lokomotiv defeated Zenit in the last game of the first leg of the Russian Premier League.

Before the match, both the fans sectors decided to make nine minutes of silence in honor of the victims of the plan crash happened in Egypt.

Compared to the game against Besiktas, Cherevchenko made only a replacement: Aleksey Miranchuk took the place of Fernandes

Zenit started immediately the game controlling the ball and trying to surprise the red-green defense. After only 2 minutes, Ryazantsev had a good chance, but his shot didn't create any problem to Guilherme. Lokomotiv answered with Maicon and Miranchuk, but neither the Brazilian nor the Russian were enough accurate to beat Lodygin.

In the second half, the home side entered on the field much more aggressive. As a consequence, Lokomotiv took the lead after 48 minutes thanks to an own goal of Lombaerts

Ten minutes later, Samedov scored the 2:0 finalizing an amazing counterattack started by Niasse, who made his second assist of the night.

At the end of the match, a Criscito's header hit the post and so Guilherme was able to keep a clean sheet.

Lokomotiv joins Rostov at the second place in the table with 30 points, six less than CSKA and four more than Zenit.
