Former Lokomotiv forward Dmitrij Bulykin commented the appointment of Vedran Corluka as the new captain of the team.
"When I was a footballer, the captain was a Russian player that has been in the team for a long time. Nowadays, the things are changing. Look at Corluka or Kuranyi. It's difficult to say if they influence or not the team. You can see more foreign players than the Russian ones in some clubs. I'd like Lokomotiv's captain was a Russian player.
However, this was a Igor' Cherevchenko's decision. This means it's the best solution. Is there a Russian player that merits being Lokomotiv' captain? No, I think. However, I don't know how the players behave during the training. Cherevchenko sees everything, so he has appointed a person who is a leader on the pitch and in the dressing room. It's sad that there aren't Russian players that can suit for this role."
